A beautiful and peaceful winter scene of New Jersey's Sandy Hook Lighthouse, which was built in 1764, at the entrance to New York Harbor adorns the cover of this month's issue. It is the oldest standing lighthouse in the United States. Located within the Gateway National Recreation Area, the lighthouse is now owned by the National Park Service. In season, the New Jersey Lighthouse Society offers tours of the structure, which is a National Historic Landmark. Photograph by Madeline E. Quarto of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
