McGulpin Point Lighthouse, sporting its new lantern room, was open to the public to climb for the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival. Those who climbed the tower were able to go inside the new lantern room and experience a spectacular view of the Straits of Mackinac and the world famous Mackinac Bridge. While in Mackinaw City, many of the attendees, of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival, also visited Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and stopped in at the offices and gift store of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association.
