Deer Island Thorofare Lighthouse in East Penobscot Bay, Maine. Because the lighthouse is located on the six-acre Mark Island, it is more commonly known as Mark Island Lighthouse. An unidentified lighthouse keeper is shown standing on the lawn. If you look closely, you will notice the drapes are closed in the lantern room to protect the Fresnel lens from the rays of the sun.
