Photo Caption:
Wolfe Island Lighthouse from artwork by Pam Britton of Cutler, Maine. Over the years the lighthouse has also been referred to as Wolfe Point, Ship Harbour and Nichol Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse, built in 1895, with its red iron lantern room, was torn down and replaced by a square two story dwelling with a lantern room centered atop a pyramidal roof. The second Wolfe Island Lighthouse is also no longer standing, having been replaced by another light. Back to the edition of: May 2010
