Photo Caption:

Walter Lawrence’s more aesthetic photos dealt with water and the reflection of light upon the rippling surfaces. This photo shows a double reflection of the sunlight on the horizon line as well as a foreground reflection on the ripples, the division caused by the dark cloud cover in-between. This is the only photo in the albums cropped into a circular shape and numbered, showing it was probably an experiment of some kind. A sample of his mounting strips and calligraphic script is at the bottom. This was most likely shot off the very narrow Western walkway or perhaps from the foghorn building roof where several other shots were taken. (Photo courtesy of Brian Bay.)
