The Cleft of the Rock Lighthouse beacon was officially listed a private aid to navigation in 1979, but was deactivated sometime after Gibb’s death in 2010. The light is still fully functional and when lit can be seen 16 miles out to sea. Back to the edition of: Sep/Oct 2017
