Michigan’s White Shoal Lighthouse as it appeared during the time that Henrik G. Olsen served there from August 5, 1910 to April 1, 1922. It wasn’t until the 1950s that the tower received its red and white spiraling stripes. Its massive 2nd order Fresnel lens is now on display at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Point, Michigan. (Lighthouse Digest archives.) Back to the edition of: Jan/Feb 2018
