Many newspaper articles and books were published about Grace’s life and heroic rescue. Published in the 1970’s, Grace Darling: Heroine of Farne Islands was typical of the biographies. She was usually pictured going to the rescue alone in her rowboat. In reality, she was with her father and helped him on the night of the rescue.
