Although this photo is blurry, it is one of only a few actual photographs, to date, that we have been able to find of the second Four Mile Point Lighthouse. When built in 1880, the tower was painted red. In 1888, the tower was painted brown with a black lantern and remained that way until its demise. It held a 6th order lens. The photo was in the collection of Thom Greene, who owned the former keeper’s house. After his death, the photo was donated to the Greene County Historical Society and they shared it with us.
