As they prepared to leave Bakers Island Lighthouse, Helen Baptiste took some private time to reflect on the memories of the great life the family had while living there. They hated to leave, but they had wanted to live somewhere where there was a school nearby for their children, and there was no school on Bakers Island. When the keeper’s position became available at Maine’s Monhegan Island Lighthouse, Paul Baptiste applied for a transfer and it was granted. Back to the edition of: Nov/Dec 2018
