Frederick A. Schrieber and Lilly had seven children, the last three of whom were born at Tchefuncte River Lighthouse while he served there from 1920 to 1935. Frederick sought his appointment to Tchefuncte so his children could attend public school in nearby Madisonville. Some of them are pictured on the pier after a swim in the river.
