Photo Caption:

This photo of the assistant keepers’ house at Libby Island was taken around the same time that Samuel and Bertha Holbrook lived there between 1915 to 1918. Note the telephone pole signifying phone service. This was how the commander of the Coast Patrol District was notified to send the cruiser Pauline for assistance. (Lighthouse Digest Archives)
