Following his Coast Guard service and while working as a firefighter, in 1996 Joe Dupras co-founded Life-Safer, Inc. which developed a U.S. Coast Guard approved water rescue and personal flotation device known as the “Personal Retriever.” He worked with Paul Driscoll again to design the device which combines a throw rope and a life ring. It is able to reach 100 feet on extension to facilitate water rescues, particularly during winter ice conditions. Joe has spent his working career saving other people from harm’s way.
