Photo Caption:

This 1960s U.S. Coast Guard photograph shows cannons on the top wall of Maryland’s Fort Carroll by the lighthouse, which was in good condition at the time. The fog bell can be seen hanging from the tower. But what happened to the replica cannons? What happened to the fog bell? Are they still on the island? Today, the Fort Carroll Lighthouse is ready to collapse and is on the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List of Endangered Lighthouses.
