Photo Caption:

Samuel E. Crozier served as a lighthouse keeper in Cleveland, Ohio from 1917 through 1949. As of yet, we have been unable to locate a better quality photo of him. This image is from the 1949 newspaper story. A few years after starting his lighthouse career on January 15, 1920, he married Ella Hilbrecht and the couple had two children. Samuel Crozier was born on July 17, 1895 and died on May 16, 1955 and he was buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Buffalo, New York. Hopefully the day will come when a U.S. Lighthouse Service Memorial Marker will be placed at his gravesite. (Lighthouse Digest archives)
