The gravesite of Captain Alexander Andersen, who served exclusively on lightships of the U.S. Lighthouse Service. Born in Norway in 1869, he became a U.S. citizen in 1895. This is the first time in history that the new brass horizontal marker under the shield of the U.S. Lighthouse Service with the words “Lightship Crew” was used. Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2021
