*Photo Caption:*		While it was still a stand-alone tower, Washington’s Grays Harbor Lighthouse, designed by Carl Leick in 1896, was a departure from his cylindrical towers in moving to an octagonal shape. Considered to be his best work by historians, Grays Harbor’s slender profile stands 107 feet tall and ranks third highest on the Pacific Coast. Back to the edition of: May/Jun 2021
