In 1959, LeRoy White paid a visit to his father, retired lighthouse keeper, Walter White, at his Vashon Island home in Washington. Walter liked whirly-gigs and LeRoy made many for him which could be mounted on posts out in the yard where gardening was Walter’s main occupation during his retirement years.
