In 1997 voters of the Town of Castine approved spending $98,000 to repair the Dice Head Light tower. They also received a grant from the Maine Historic Preservation Committee for $52,000. An additional amount of $25,000 was approved by voters in March of 1998 that was needed to complete the restoration. The work was done by Marty Nally of the Campbell Construction Group.
