Captain Charles Richardson wrote on the back of this rare, early photo: “The old U.S. lighthouse tender Manzanita as she looked in the summer of 1888.” The Manzanita did almost all of the maintenance stops at Tillamook Rock Lighthouse in the late 1880s and early 1890s while Rasmus served on the Rock.
