The headstone of Sanibel Island assistant keeper Richard T. Barry (1847-1919) at the Key West Cemetery, in Key West, Florida. The gravestone was erected and paid for by the Woodmen of the World, a fraternal benefit association of which Barry was a member. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his death, hopefully the day will come when someone, or some organization, will place a U.S. Lighthouse Service Memorial Marker at his gravesite.
