We have been unable to locate any existing photographs of the first Crossover Island Lighthouse that was built in 1848 where this story of the baby took place. Shown here, in 1885, is the second Crossover Light Station that was built in 1882. The lighthouse was declared surplus property in 1960 and was eventually sold and has been in private ownership since the late 1960s. Back to the edition of: Sep/Oct 2012
