Lighthouse keeper Paul F. Prochnow and his wife Anna in the living room at South Bass Island Lighthouse. The television literally changed the lives of the couple who previously had only a radio for entertainment. Their TV antenna, for those of you who remember antennas, brought them a clear signal from TV stations in Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, and Canada, which was quite a bit better than many other keepers of the time at remote stations who could generally receive in only one station.
