Lighthouse keeper Frank Schubert (1915-2003) showing off some of his marquetry to his grandsons, Scott and Christopher, which is an art he learned to do during long stretches of quiet time at Old Orchard Shoal Lighthouse. Marquetry is defined as the coverage of the entire surface of a board or piece of furniture with veneer in the form of a skillfully applied design or picture.
