Photo Caption:

Larry Becker examines the rotating base, built by Kurt Fosburg, on which the lens now stands. Fosburg designed it to be turned by an electric motor to match the rotation speed when the lens was last in the tower, and he installed a light inside the lens at prism level. He also painted the stand the original green color and balanced it through 360 degrees of rotation. (photo courtesy Bill Bonner.)
