Photo Caption:

Notice how sharp and pristine the Fourteen Foot Shoal Lighthouse appeared shortly after it was completed. By the beginning of the 1935 shipping season a keeper was no longer needed at the lighthouse. However, the station was still maintained in the highest of standards and an assistant from the Poe Reef Lighthouse always made sure that United States flag flew proudly from the top of the lighthouse.
