Cullen Chambers, a lighthouse preservation expert who has directed restoration projects at the Key West and St. Augustine Lighthouses in Florida and the recent Tybee Island Light, Georgia restoration, gave an informative overview on how to correctly restore a historic property. He stated that automation actually ends up costing more because the keepers always kept such good care of the properties.
