Photo Caption:

American Shoal Lighthouse, where Arthur C.E. Hamblett was stationed from 1907 to 1908, sits in the ocean about 15 miles east of Key West, Florida. It is sometimes also called American Shoals Lighthouse. The lighthouse is a near twin to Florida’s Fowey Rocks Lighthouse. Lighthouse keepers have not lived at the lighthouse since 1963 when it was automated. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
