Photo Caption:

The 1823 Black Rock Lighthouse as it appears today. Because the lighthouse is located on Fayerweather Island at the entrance to Black Harbor, it is often called the Fayerweather Island Lighthouse. The keeper’s house where Kate Moore lived, is no longer standing, it was destroyed in a fire, as was the next keeper’s house that stood from 1879 to 1977.
