Maine’s Seguin Island Lighthouse from where Connie Small sent her 1926 letter to the Detroit Free Press. Although the tower is only 53-feet tall, it is the highest lighthouse above sea level in the state of Maine. The 1st order Fresnel lens, the largest of all lenses, is still in use in the tower to this day. (Lighthouse Digest archives.)
