Louis Wilks is shown here standing on the foundation of the old daymark that was installed in 1868. Stannard Rock Lighthouse is shown in the background. Apparently after the lighthouse was completed the daymark was removed. Notes kept by Louis Wilks indicated that a plaque had been placed on the site, but apparently the plaque is no longer there.
