With Maine’s Burnt Island Lighthouse in the background, Maine’s Governor John Baldacci thanks Ken Black, “Mr. Lighthouse” for being the first to take charge in saving Maine’s lighthouse artifacts. Ken, a retired Coast Guard officer and former captain of a lightship, founded the Shore Village Lighthouse Museum, which now has the largest collection of lighthouse lenses and equipment in a museum in the United States.
