Cullen Chambers of the Tybee Island Lighthouse in Georgia, closed the session of the National Lighthouse Conference with a passionate plea for the attendees to look to the future while being aware of the problems at hand. He said the most important way to create a successful nonprofit is recruit a good staff, encourage volunteers and build a small membership base.
