Family reading time in the living room at Mount Desert Rock Lighthouse. The enamel stove to the right was used for heating. The old radio to the left was their “entertainment center.” Left to right, Shirley, lighthouse keeper George York, wife Helen, and Wilbur “Bill.” One can only dream now of how wonderfully decorated and furnished this remote lighthouse station was in those long ago days of yesteryear.
