In 1969, the Canadian Coast Guard launched the Cutter Robert Foulis in honor of the man who invented the steam-powered foghorn. In 1994, the vessel was transferred to the Canadian Coast Guard College in Point Edward, Nova Scotia to be used as a training ship. It served in that position until 1996 and in 1999 it was sold to a commercial interest. Photograph from the archives of the American Lighthouse Foundation.
