Island of Little Hope Lighthouse where Esther and Reuben James Colp raised 13 children. Shortly after the Colps left the island the Canadian Coast Guard tore down the buildings, solarized the light and removed the lantern room from the historic lighthouse, destroying an important part of Canadian maritime history. Sadly, Mother Nature finished the job as reported in Lighthouse Digest last year. The tower no longer stands.
