The Corregidor Lighthouse as it appears today. It was built from the bricks of the original lighthouse. Although the lighthouse is an active aid to navigation, it is the only functional thing on the entire island. The rest of the island, including the lighthouse is a memorial to those who died in the battles over control of the island. Back to the edition of: June 1999
