The roving specialists (carpenters and laborers) were familiar with every lighthouse. While constructing the boat ramp at Little River Lighthouse shown here they got to be friends with the lighthouse keepers as they did up and down the coast. This photo does not show dead low tide, which is actually quite a bit further out. At high tide the water is only a few feet from the boathouse.
