Worshipers from the Cutler United Methodists Church gathered on the island at Little River Lighthouse for their second annual community church service on the island. They were ferried over in lobster boats by local fisherman Andy Patterson and Stephen Cates. The Sunday sermon was given by Lighthouse Digest editor and American Lighthouse Foundation volunteer Tim Harrison, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of the local church. Coffee and donuts from Dunkin Donuts were delivered to the island for the service. Tours of the keeper’s house were give by Hal Biering, the volunteer from Alabama, who has spent the last five summers working on the restoration of the lighthouse. Among those in attendance at the church service was former Little River Coast Guard keeper Terry Rowden who served there in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.
