Digest>August 2008
Photo Caption:
After the Cape Mendocino Lighthouse was abandoned, the Coast Guard burned this keeper's house and the other buildings at the site to prevent them from being vandalized or used by homeless people. Today, the only thing left of the site of the Cape Mendocino Light Station are images in old photographs and a plaque at the location that says a lighthouse once stood there.
