The newly reconstructed Blackistone Lighthouse on St. Clement's Island, which is the birthplace of the State Maryland. The large white cross was erected in 1934 as part of Maryland's 300th birthday, to honor the site of the first English speaking Roman Catholic mass that was held here, which led to the colony being founded based on religious freedom.
