Walter Aho in his dress whites. His daughter Joan recalled that back in those days her father never owned civilian clothes, he always wore some type of uniform. She personally liked him best in his dress uniform and summer khakis. She thought he looked so handsome. On the other hand daughter Carol liked him best in his dress whites as shown here. He served duty at a number of stations including Granite Rock Life Boat Station, Grand Marais Life Boat Station and Marquette Harbor where he and his family lived in the lighthouse.
