As part of Connie Small’s 100th birthday celebration, she returned to the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse where she and her husband Elson retired from lighthouse duty in 1948.
As her limo parked by the her old house next to the tower, Connie said she was feeling all choked up and would be unable to properly greet guests at the tower. So instead she “held court” with her many admirers in the cafeteria of the Portsmouth Coast Guard Headquarters directly adjacent to the lighthouse. Connie took the time to speak directly to each person and pose for photographs with every family.
