Kelly Anne Loughery, president (left) and Beth McCann, secretary (right) of the New Brunswick Lighthouse Society recently toured lighthouses from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to mid-coast Maine. Here they are in front of Portsmouth Harbor Light, where they got a tour courtesy of the new Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Naturally they also stopped in to visit us at Lighthouse Digest and Lighthouse Depot in Wells, Maine. After they returned to New Brunswick they said they loved all of Maine’s lighthouses
especially enjoying the rugged coast at Owls Head and Bass Harbor. But, Kelly said her favorite lighthouse from the visit was Pemaquid Point. We can understand why, it’s also one of our favorites.
The New Brunswick Lighthouse Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, promotion and preservation of the province’s lighthouses. The Society welcomes those with an interest in New Brunswick’s lighthouses to join their organization. If you have any lighthouse artifacts, light-keeper stories, lighthouse ghost stories, recollections of growing up in a lighthouse, news stories or just about anything else pertaining to New Brunswick lighthouses they’d like to hear from you.
