The Old Presque Isle Lighthouse in Presque Isle Township Michigan was in pretty bad shape with little if anything having been done to the tower since it was built in 1840.

Restoration efforts included new bonding material to hold the stones together, window repairs, interior and exterior painting and the lantern room walkway.

The lighthouse is known to many as haunted. Many nights, a light shines from the tower when in fact there is no lens in the lantern room and hasn’t been for years.
