Don Perkins, left, and Dave Kramer, right, ...

Don Perkins has built a number of lighthouse replicas that now adorn museums, lighthouses, tourist information centers and yes, even lighthouses.

When he recently completed a model of Ohio’s Lorrain Lighthouse he called up Dave Kramer, one of the volunteers at Lorrain Lighthouse, and told him he had a completed model of the lighthouse that he would like to give to them. Dave said, “Sure, that would be great, we’d love to accept it.

There was one small problem, Don told Dave — could they meet half way so he wouldn’t have to drive so far? Dave said, “Sure, no problem, where do you live?”

Don replied, “Massachusetts!”

Well, meet half way they did and the lighthouse replica now has a new home in Lorrain, Ohio.
