The University of Massachusetts Boston has the distinction of being the only university with “Beacons” for a nickname. Based on their location at the edge of Boston Harbor and the university’s mission of being a beacon of learning for students from all over the world, the nickname best defines our proximity to the ocean and our academic goal.

Recently, they updated their logos and lighthouse artwork and shown here is the new look. This is one university where the lighthouse is an integral part of campus life.
