Okay, so the real Sandy Hook Lighthouse is not for sale, but a new video will bring the lighthouse to your home. Sandy Hook Lighthouse: A Journey Through Time about the history of Sandy Hook Lighthouse is now available.
The video was originally produced by the National Park Service as part of an $800,000 restoration project funded by Congress in 1998.
First lit on January 11, 1764, the Sandy Hook Lighthouse is the oldest standing lighthouse tower in the United States. The staircase with 95 steps leads to the lantern room where the third order Fresnel lens can be viewed.
The 10-minute video can be purchased by contacting the Sandy Hook Visitors Center at 732-872-5970 or writing to Eastern National, Gateway NRA, Sandy Hook, P. O. Box 530, Fort Hancock, NJ 07732. Cost of the video is $9.95 plus $3.50 shipping for a total of $13.45.
