Jim Gill (l) is shown here with Douglas Bingham ...

Just as we were going to press we sadly learned that CWO Jim Gill (USCG Retired) passed away. Jim served aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Taney and he was CO of the San Francisco Lightship LV 612 and served in many other capacities in his long career with the U.S. Coast Guard.

Jim was a founding member and president of the Lightship Sailors Association and was instrumental in the development of a U.S. Coast Guard Lightship Sailors Memorial that is now on the waterfront in New Bedford, MA.

He is survived by his wife Betty Gill, 642 Marina Parkway # 63, Chula Vista, CA 91910
