This vintage photograph of a lighthouse keeper and another man has recently come into our possession. As is true with a tremendous amount of our nations lighthouse history, there are no names written on the back of the photograph.
The only clue is that Adrian Tuttle, a professional photographer from Belfast, Maine, took the photograph. So, we would have to assume that the man in the keeper’s uniform is a Maine lighthouse keeper. The other gentleman could be a relative or someone of importance such as a lighthouse inspector or superintendent. If you can identify either of these men please write to us at Editor, Lighthouse Digest, P.O. Box 1690, Wells, Maine 04090, or call us toll free at 1-800-646-0515 or email our editor at Timh@lhdigest.com. If you can positively identify the lighthouse keeper we’ll give you a $50.00 gift certificate for the Lighthouse Depot Catalog.
